As a resident of Hoschton, GA I am seeing a huge boom in this area. By the way, Hoschton is pronounced HUSH-tOn - like Push with an H - and don't pronounce it incorrectly or you will get sideways looks from the local folk that have lived here for eons. Hoschton is a city of change and a community deeply rooted in the traditional & historical. I love living & working here! You really get it all out here with the rolling hills and pastures but then across the street they are building a new strip mall with a huge grocery store right in your back yard - so you get the best of both worlds in Hoschton - quiet, picturesque small town America and the convenience of in town living. Actively working in the real estate market in Hoschton I keep my eye on new developments, the school system and all of the fun things to do here as well as home values. This is a multi-part series on the area and I will be blogging about other areas in the near future - so keep an eye out for new info on the area including schools, dining, shopping, real estate market updates and more!
Here is a pic of the new Traditions Walk shopping center located on Hwy 124 and very close to Hwy 332. This shopping center is now open and let me tell you it is beautiful! It reminds me of New Orleans at night, the developer did a fantastic job on it! At night it is so inviting, like a cozy part of town that beckons you to come and have a coffee and dessert at a bistro table under the stars. So, if you thought Hoschton was some little po-dunk town, think again! This shopping center has a fantastic vet that practically saved my dog Rodman's life, so I can not say enough nice things about her!!!, dry cleaners, chiropractor, Hometown Community Bank, Mexican restaurant, Japanese Steak House, coffee shop, nail & spa, and an Anytime Fitness. More businesses are coming and I can not wait to be able to walk to the coffee shop in the morning with my dogs and enjoy the conveniences of living in this area!
This pic is of the new Publix shopping center on the corner of Hwy 124 and Hwy 332 - yes it is across the way from the Traditions Walk shopping center so I am one lucky girl living right in the center of it all. I plan on getting my bicycle tuned up so I can just take a bike ride to the grocery when I just need small items. This is the luxury of living in Hoschton during this changing time - I can actually consider riding my bike to the store when I need to get an onion for dinner. How cool is that? Everybody is worried about the climate change, so I am thrilled that I can help out in my own tiny way lending a hand to mother earth. This project is slated to be finished early next year. Let me tell you, they are MOVING on this. I have never seen something come up so quickly. For years Publix sat on the land, but I think after the new Jefferson Kroger opened up, they saw a huge opportunity and realized that this area really can support a new grocery store. Rumor has it that several restaurants have already signed up for space and of course this makes me happy! I am a self proclaimed foodie, so I hope some good mom & pop restaurants sign on, they are always better than the big chains in my opinion.
