Todays Poll Question....

By
Real Estate Agent with Exit Grand Realty

I am trying to find answers to questions I have as a newbie, and I am sure many others have the same questions.  If you have the time to respond to the Poll, I will make sure the info is used to help others like myself trying to learn about AR, rack up points, and not waste anyones time with posts the do not yield points for both sides.  So the first question that came to my mind when I saw the AR website was:

Is this worth the time I will put in to it, and will it benefit me to take part in this?

And your answer is:

The answer is YES, it is worth your time. That being said, make sure you blogging activities do not replace your other responsibilities.

Barry - Yes and be sure to focus on point production. There is a rumor that at certain point levels, AR members are featured on local tv spots. You can also probably use your points for a reduction in on line printing of postcards.

Of course, focusing on points may prevent your from actually reading and learning, but knowledge has never stopped industrious agents from making a buck and racking up those points.

Barry, I will give you the long answer.  YES, YES, YES, BUT you have to commit to it!  I decided back in JUNE that I was going to put out at least one blog post per weekday.  I wanted the content to be relevant and offer value to the community!  After about a month I started seeing better traffic on my website, I met more local Realtors, AND to my surprise my posts were getting ranked FIRST PAGE on Google in VERY Important keywords.  So, commit to a 90 day burn and be religious about it and you should see results.

Hi Barry:  This is my take on it.  Active Rain, as I see it, is many things.  It is a social platform where Realtors, Lenders, Stagers, and others connected to Real Estate can connect and get to know each other.

So, friendships may arise.  That in itself is enough for some.  Additionally, it is a way to meet people from cities across the country, a way to get to know them (through reading their posts and comments) , and also a way for them to get to know you... (also from your posts and your writings.)

Once the connection is made... then we get into possible referrals.  Many of the major companies, C-21, Prudential, Coldwell Banker, Weichert, and others all have relo departments, but they are corporate controlled.  Of course, when a referral comes in, the company takes a big chunk, which diminishes what is left for the agent, who, of course, does all the work.

Active Rain, through meeting all of these people, and connecting, gives each of us a way to find our own referral connections... and it also gives it a personal touch for all involved.

That was just the first obvious thing than came into my mind.  Hope it helps... take care... Karen Anne
