Today's economy are forcing many families to stay local and be a bit creative. Every Sunday, after church service, I take out my calender and the plan the week, in advance. There are many local things to do in  East Hartford that will definitely not break the budject.
 
Looking to keep everyone busy and entertained, while they are out of school or work, could be a bit challenging.
 
Here is one weekly Thursday event, I will surely not miss.
 
 
The 15th Annual Sounds of Summer
Thursday Evenings
Presented by Pratt & Whitney
 
Free concerts on the Town Green 1047 Main Street from 6:30 – 8:30 PM.  Bring your own blanket or lawn chair and enjoy music ranging from jazz, to big band, to rock and roll.  If you don’t like cooking we will have a vendor available to purchase food and drink at the Green.  In the event of rain or threatening weather the concerts will be held in the East Hartford Community Cultural Center located across the street from the Green.

 

June 30:  The Afto-Semitic Experience
A 7 piece band...jazz, world soul driven music.
