New Mexico Fire Update - Sunday, July 24, 2011

New Mexico Largest Fire is now 85 percent contained and has consumed a total of over 156,000 acres of land.  It's as if it is now yesterday's news.  The focus has now shifted to thunderstorms and other issues across the state.  But there is still work to be done. Let's keep in mind that there are still first responsers out there who are doing good work.  It may not make the headlines anymore, but there is still work to be done.  Thanks to KOB TV for their latest report.

So with all the rain across the state, the burn bans have been lifted, some areas are now susceptible to soil erosion and flooding. Please be extra careful.  And remember to use your sun screen when you are going outside.

It is a shame about the fire.  Surely it will be out 100% soon.  Thank you, fire department and all first responders.   We could not make it without you.

Good Evening C Lloyd, one of the worst fire seasons New Mexico has known.  Now your fire fighters will be heading north to help other states.

Good morning Lloyd.

It is always sad to see the destruction after the fire...
