Real Estate in the Social Media Era
I love selling Real Estate in the social media era. As a 20+ year veteran of the real estate world, I remember when clients had to come to my office to look at homes in a listing book and we had those funky looking keys to access lockboxes. Then came the dumb terminals used only by licensed Realtors. In the late ‘90’s websites became the big crave. That was the beginning of a whole new way of selling real estate.
Fast forward to 2011, it’s a fast past environment where buyers and sellers want info yesterday. As a real estate broker I’m am no longer limited to the small description in the MLS. Consumers are no longer interested in searching web sites for the info they want, they just Google it and Manassas real estate is no exception. That’s why I love selling Real Estate in the social media era.
To be able to reach the consumer I need to communicate the way they do. On any given day I could be sending email messages, text messages or twitting. I like to blog about homes for sale, events in the community and general information about buying or selling a home. I share information on Facebook, create You Tube videos and add QR code’s to listings that will take the consumer directly to the information they want. I’ve been referred to as a Social Media Queen.
Communication is the back bone of building strong long lasting relationships. Social media gives you endless ways to communicate the same information in different formats to different people. People who follow my blogs, twits, videos… feel like they already know me when we meet. This takes the conversation to a whole new level.
