One Old Truck, Many Looks with Picnik Photo Editing Program

While out in Long Island, New York, I saw this truck and had to stop and get a picture (anyone into photography understands this), thinking where has it traveled, who drove it and what did they do for a living – perhaps a farmer? And, how many miles did this truck see during its long life? I think a lot of us into photographers see the world a little different...

You definitely have picnik skills Kristine.  It helps that you have an eye for great shots to begin with though.

GF--You're making me want to take a minute (uh, 4 hours) and play around on PicNik!  I had to FORCE myself to go to bed at 11pm (up since 5) last nite because I was tweaking just one more photo.  You showed so much of the amazing--and FREE--values that PicNik offers and the perfect venue to do it with...love that truck.

Shall we go for a ride?

Kristine, I just started playing in Picnik. Wondering if you think it's worth the upgrade for the extra features?  Super cool old truck, by the way.

Kristine, I'd wager that everyone responding understands your "Need to Photograph" the unusual/quaint/scenic/different/colorful/moody/bright et.al..... for that is a photographer. I winder how many macro shots you took of the name badge on the grill, or the dusty dash. There were several oddities in this shot......... no headlights..... the grass had been cut under the truck.

Good afternoon, Kristine. Neat old beater. There is something about old farm equipment that beckons the photographer. I can understand your stopping to snap a few shots...

I still like the first one best, with the 5th one down (sepia), being a close second.  However, that last photo is intriguing with its colors.  I love Piknik!

Being married to a man whose first car was a model T and who drove it and learned how to rebuild it whenever it would stop working, we have a keen fascination with older model cars.  It is a passion.  But in all of my years of looking and touching and oooing and ahhhhing, I have never once looked at it that way . . . who owned it, where did they go in it, what lives happened in it.  Absolutely amazing to have this perspective of it.  I look at houses that way, and have a section on my website called Talking Walls because I love the history of the houses, but I have never looked at a car that way.  Thanks for my vision shift, missy.  I LOVE IT!

Hi Kristine, I know what you mean about having to stop or back up the car to get that photo!  It can be fun.

The many moods of this old truck.  Each mood could tell a different story.

Looks great!

WOW - what a fantastic photo Kristine.  I often wonder when I see something like that what it has seen over its lifetime.  A lot of miles on that truck and a lot of great (and heartbreaking) experiences I would imagine.

It's so much fun to play around with our photographs. Makes us think that we are Ansel Adams, although I'm sure it took him a lot longer to get just the right picture than it does us. We have Picnik! lol
