Mercedes Benz vs Beachfront on Ambergris Caye

Mercedes vs Beachfront in Belize

Driving a Mercedes is just plain cool. You look good driving one, you feel good driving one and you get to brag (if only to yourself) that you have one. Having one comes with a price...about $95,000 for this model.

That will serve you well for a few years until driving it gets old or until you sell it and take a loss and buy something else. Now I'm not knocking the Mercedes. If I lived somewhere that had actual roads and highways I'd have one myself. (we use golf carts here on Ambergris Caye)

BUT, for less then the price of this new Mercedes you can have BEACHFRONT property on Ambergris Caye. The two are similar but different.

Owning a slice of paradise is also just plain cool. You look good when you are on your OWN beachfront property. You feel good when you are having your morning coffee staring at the water or drinking a fine wine while watching the sunset... and yes it is nice to drop the phrase "I own a little place down in Belize" if only to yourself.

The difference is your beachfront will never go down in value (they ain't making anymore). You'll never take a financial loss and even 20 years from now your beachfront property will still be there giving you and your family and loved ones real enjoyment and life experiences. Isn't this why you buy nice things in the first place?

The days you spend driving around in your Mercedes may be soon forgotten, but watching your children or grandchildren play on the beach will give you priceless "rocking chair" memories.

The west side of Ambergris Caye, Belize has beautiful sandy beaches, gin clear waters and amazing sunsets. Still very affordable but it won't be forever. With the first house built in Ambergris Bay now complete others are set to follow and soon.

Enjoyed your post.  Making a decision between the Mercedes Benz and the Beachfront property for me would be a very easy one. The car would be nice to own but I totally agree with you that the Beachfront property will hold it's value longer and also bring a lot of enjoyment for many years.

Thanks Betty....I learned a long time ago that its not about how many THINGS that you own that add enjoyment to your life but more importantly WHICH things bring the greatest happiness. I'm content with my little Club Car golf cart...just give me a little slice of paradise.  All the best to you and your team. If you ever make it down here stop by and say hello.
