Last season I represented some clients from Canada-- they found me through my ActiveRain blog! We made an offer on a short-sale condo in Indian Wells and it was quickly accepted and approved. No problem so far.
It was a cash deal, and supposed to be a 10 day escrow~ awesome. But during the transaction, the listing agent agent defected from his brokerage, went... rogue-sans broker, changed assistants, and in turn needed all the documents re-signed. My clients had returned to Canada.
The entire transaction basically had to be re-done... and my clients were scan/e-mail challenged. During this time, our transaction coordinator quit... the file was a huge mess. The original broker was calling me asking for pieces of the puzzle, because the listing agent had stolen the file. She was going to pursue disciplinary actions against him once the deal closed.
Faxing back and forth with the pages mounting and numerous duplicates piling up, this little slam-dunk deal had turned into a huge nightmare! Docusign would have made this so much easier-- for myself, my broker, and especially for my clients!
The deal finally did close, and my clients are happy with their new place-- but I anticipate many more Canadian and out of the area clients next season and in the future--- Docusign needs to be a part of my business plan!
