Date night around Fishhawk Lake could mean staying in and having a barbeque at your cabin at Fishhawk Lake, and yet there are some yummy options if you just don't feel like cooking. Our "date night" sometimes involves driving from Fishhawk Lake, a mere half-hour's country drive to Clatskanie to go to Fultano's and have pizza,  a fresh(really fresh) salad bar and a microbrew, diet something or other and possibly soft ice cream with (my favorite) fresh fruit, chocolate and caramel syrup and nuts on top--TO DIE FOR!

The staff are always happy to see you, accomodating, friendly, and there are many reasonably priced items on the menu to choose from or for about $7.00, you can order (at lunch) the  pizza/salad bar/dessert combo--bring your hunger! The salad bar always has gobs of fresh items to choose from including 3 different types of lettuces, side dishes, fresh fruit in season and even baked cookies sometimes.

Well, good morning, Richard!  We ARE pretty remote. The nearest "town" is Birkenfeld which is four miles away and has a church, a store and a very small smattering of homes--it's TEENSY! We are a private lake community and as to "population", that's up for grabs because there are about 185 homes here all told, a little over 300 lots and only about 20% of us are fulltimers. We are totally off the beaten track, no one even knows we sit at the end of a four-mile stretch of windy country road, Fishhawk Rd. We aren't a city, and our Birkenfeld address and zip are swooped up into Clatskanie's, we have the same zip code. Clatskanie is 18 miles away and Vernonia is 24. That's where my business office is.

Thanks, Karen--I did. I have e-mailed links in the past to owners of businesses that I spotlight, but don't always get a response...I wonder if they know about that whole Google Juice thing (not to mention time spent by someone else that gives them FREE advertising??)

Definitely looks like my kind of place -- I have always said that I've never met a pizza I didn't like.  If I could only choose one type of food to eat, exclusively, it would be a vegetarian pizza -- it has it all!

Eric, that's my kinda pizza, too! What they do for lunch is lay out a whole variety that you can choose from as well as the salad bar and then the (included) ice cream dessert--and for such a low price--they had me at HELLO!
