How to write a blog for a year every day -the secret of my success. I would like to share with you the secrets of my "success" in blogging on a daily bases for one full year. It was not easy, but every day I put out a blog on the subject of 365 Things to do in Worcester County. I plan to continue this tradition, but not with the same intensity. The blog will now have a name "Discovering Worcester County". To give you an idea on how I managed to deliver content every day, I have compiled a list of suggestions. If I can do it, it can be done. So here goes;
1. Always cary a camera with you, that's how I got Chester the cheeta in a local grocery store.
2. Have resources handy to prompt you such as AAA publications, local travel slices, I even bought a book on Worcester county.
3. Help out local businesses by promoting their services, they'll be grateful and it'll come back to you.
4. Include snippets of your life, if you're going to pick blueberries, write about it.
5. When you get emails for charity event, post it.
6. Do research, google what's happening in your neck of the woods.
7. Talk to friends and relatives and find out what they're doing.
8. Read the local section of the paper and monitor the calendar.
9. Don't throw away ideas. Draft the blog post and come back to it.
10. If you want to go crazy like I did and post every day, when going on vacation, you should prepair a few blogs ahead of time to release them on time.
11. Always keep the blog in the back of your mind. When you are in the right mindset, ideas will come to you.
With that said, one thing that kept me going was a colleague saying that I couldn't do it. But more importantly, it was my family who did not let me get away with excuses. At one point my children made me pull out my computer at quarter to twelve to write a blog, because I was so close to completing the year. Thanks family! and Good Luck to all of your who want to challenge yourself.
