"No, I Can't Help you Sell Your House at that Price It's Unrealistic!"

By
Real Estate Broker/Owner with M & M Realty of Brevard Inc. BK629999

We are hearing more and more stories in our current market about Realtor®s that are getting tougher in the types of No, I can't help you sell your housesellers they are willing to do business with. Homes today are just not selling for yesterday's overinflated prices and Realtor®s are putting their foot down. Many across the nation are now refusing those over priced listings that are no longer selling in today's market.

Price is key in quickly moving a property off of the market, especially with the large numbers of short sale and foreclosures in some areas.  It makes it difficult for a traditional seller to compete.  So, if that property is not priced perfectly, it doesn't stand a chance of moving off of this highly competitive market.

So, don't be surprised, when you hear that Realtor® say, "No, I can't help you sell your home at that price. It's unrealistic!"

They're doing you a favor by not wasting your time.

Can't ever chase a market.  Price it right first and the showings will quickly produce a working offer.

Laura, Pricing it right when it goes on the market is key.

No doubt it has to be priced right.  Anymore, I screen out my sellers before listing.  I want listings that will sell, not listings that will sit and make everyone frustrated.

Sandy as always real estate agents get to decide if they want the listing and waste their time trying to sell an over priced property. If you don't think the house will sell at the price the Seller wants, walk away.  You will be a happy person in the long run.

Sandy, it's not only their time, it's ours too.  I hate to have to say NO as a survival tactic.

Sandy,

I agree with that philosophy why waste your time and theirs. I think maybe it will let sellers know whether or not to list.

Sometimes it's hard to say no because even if you tell the owner that the price is unrealistic, you know they will just call the next real estate agent and that agent is going to list it.

Sandy, Amen to that. Price is criticak to selling quickly. Overpriced will sit for a long long time..

Short and right to the point. If a listing is over priced it's not sale-able.

Good luck and success.

Sandy, so true!  Just had this conversation yesterday in fact.  I'd rather not "park" my sign for infinity on someones property.
