Fotos on the Fly – The Yonkers NY Waterfront….

About 10 days ago I had about an hour to spare – so I grabbed the camera and spent some quality time on the Yonkers Waterfront.  After writing about the Science Barge and my new feathered friends, I thought it was time to share the waterfront photos.  The area is the southernmost  part of the River Walk that is being built along the Hudson from Peekskill to the Bronx border.  Eventually it will be a contiguous walk.  The views of Manhattan were pretty amazing even though it was hazy and hot – and that little girl in the last photo was obviously having a great time…

Hi Ruth,

Thanks once again for doing something creative for those of us who would like to continue to voice our concerns and opinions on the proposed FASNY plan which for the entire City of White Plains is preposterous! It will effect property values without question and not just for those living in the Gedney area. To think it won't effect all neighborhoods is just not understanding how Real Property values trickle down from the most expensive to the lesser pricey areas. You know, I know and anyone who has been in the real Estate business understands where we are coming from, and it's not just to protect a view. And if it were just that, well that's our right! Too bad if the FASNY group did not do their homework when purchasing the club. The one "lucky duck "is the Broker who sold the property unconditionally, cash deal.Noise, pollution, cars coming and buses all times of the day. Flooding issues, construciton noise, cheering in baseball fields, debris from cheering fans and sports enthusiasts..who wouldn't want that in your back yard?

Thanks for the photos Ruth-I bike along the Hudson, often from Croton down to Tarrytown or Irvington and often have to take breaks so I look forward to it being a continuous run.  Xavier's is good for brunch on Sunday.

Hi Gina - I guess I'm very NY because I agree.

Hi Brian - It's a great place to visit - the waterfront is being re-developed as it used to be industiral "brown fields."

Hi Stephanie - Its on my list of things to do.  Have you been there?

Hi Joanna - I think it will take a while for the walks to become contiguous - but it will happen eventually.

Hi Carla - It was getting the skyline in that was tricky.  I keep wanting the camera to see what my eye dose...
