DOCUSIGN: Raved about it, and ranted when banks didn't.

Docusign Pacita DimacaliPacita Dimacali posted about DocuSign for which she was an early adopter and advocate.  She convinced her formed Broker to adopt DocuSign for the whole office.  Since I still work for that Broker, I thank her for her insistance that we must have DocuSign.  Most of the agents in the office are grateful for DocuSign and know we have it because of Pacita.  Thanks Pacita.

So long ago....

I can't even remember how long ago I've been using Docusign. But I will take credit for being the first in my previous company to use Docusign, and even convinced a few to try it. Shortly afterwards, our broker decided to make it available to everyone in the office --- the first one in Alameda CA to do so.

During a Bay Area real estate Tech Faire --- it may have been 2008 or 2009, there was a Docusign booth. Docusign wasn't quite as well known then, but when I stopped by to tell the folks at the booth that I love Docusign, I believe it was An Bui who whipped out a Flip camera and started videotaping what I had to say about how great this new technology is.

How do I love thee? Well, judging by how often I blogged and commented (in Active Rain and elsewhere), I must love Docusign A LOT!

In 2008, I started lurking in the backround at Active Rain, and then got brave enough to start blogging. There were qute a few occasions when I blogged about, or commented on the use of Docusign. Going back to Active Rain to search for those blogs, I found the following entries where I mentioned Docusign.

August 2009 San Jose focus group participants needed for DocuSign This is when I blogged to recruit realtors in San Jose to participate in a focus group for Docusign after someone from Docusign called me to ask for help.

September 2009 Attention, REO agents: will/does your asset manager accept electronic signatures? This was a rant....it was so frustrating trying to figure out which REO agents/banks will accept electronic signatures. At that time, not everyone would mention it in the confidential remarks. We didn't know until much later if the bank requred wet signatures, and had to go back to our buyers to re-do the offer.

September 2009 Electronic signatures still not accepted by some REO banks? Say it ain't so! A continuation of my rant.

September 2009 http://www.docusign.com/content/fha-lender-acceptance - An Bui was blogging about the benefits of Docusign. I commented on her blog an encouraged An Bui of Docusign to post her blog on Active Rain. She thought it was a great idea, and added "I like how you think." A case of great minds think alike?

February 2010 Banks still requiring "wet" signatures? Don't they want to go paperless and GREEN? Hoping more people will call upon the banks to get with the program already!

June 2010 SCAM ALERT: cash buyer from out-of-area/country even provides "passport" and "proof of funds"  This is about a scammer who used terms familiar to realtors, and even mentioned Docusign to sign paperwork.

August 2010 FHA loan underwriters ---- still not accepting digital signatures?  My rant about FHA still insisting on wet signatures. Have they not learned anything?

February 2011 All cash international buyer ---- scam is still going on. Nearly a year later, the scammer who mentions Docusign re-surfaces.

I commented on several posts how much simpler and how my clients are so appreciative of the quick, efficient and effective service of Docusign.

I can't count how often I've raved about it. There are just so many times I've commented and talked about how my business has improved because of Docusign, not only in Active Rain but also in other places.

Bottom line: Guess you can say I'm a HUGE FAN!

Evelyn,

I too love Docusign because it makes getting a signature from out of town clients and even in town clients sooo easy. I just wished that the darned banks, escrow companies and underwriters would start accepting them too.

It is my feeling that they will eventually.  But it won't be soon enough.

Evelyn --

Can't begn to tell you how much I appreciate your ultimate compliment. A million thanks.

Even if some banks don't accept Docusgn yet, we can still use this to get the contract going. Then later, we can go back and have the clients put their wet signatures above their Docusign. The important thing is to submit and get that offer accepted right away.

Thanks!
