It Takes So Little to Give So Much

It was suggested to me that I could use a plastic cupcake container to start seedlings for a flower garden.  I had this grandiose idea that I would be able to start a beautiful garden (rather a potted area of color) for all to enjoy.

I picked up my daughter and we went to Walmart to start looking at the packaged seeds.  My daughter reminded me that I always “KILL” flowers and suggested I purchase a few of the annual flowers @ 73 cents each. She was matter of fact and said that the seeds (in my case) may not even sprout.

My wild dream of being a horticulturist evaporated.  :(

Communication is the key to successful business relationships. Being aware of how we treat and affect others with our attitude and behavior can be detrimental to the success of each transaction….each relationship.

We have to coexist with other human beings on this planet and nurture each relationship so we can live in harmony. We learn early on that......

NO ONE HUMAN BEING THINKS ALIKE.

Acceptance comes from having an open mind.  Accepting that each person is unique with different opinions and ideas opens the world up to new experiences. More often than not, I may be able to utilize one’s opinion or keep it on the back burner to use (or not) at another time.

Though it didn’t take but a suggestion to remind me of what I am /am not capable of when it comes to nurturing a garden; it reminded me of how I take each person’s opinion at face value. Those that know me (i.e. my daughter) give me their honest opinions and in turn I do the same for them.

It takes so little to give so much….

A listening ear…

An Open mind.

Success.

I went on a listing appointment and the homeowner had a bunch of plants in cupcake containers. Only problem was that they were pot plants

Sally, good post, it is so true and sometimes the true hurt, and many people are unable to handle the true because of that many become a people pleaser.

Sally, I am in awe of anyone who can turn seeds into healthy plants!  Every year I say I'll try but it never seems to work out.

Dally....

But we always grow by trying new things, whether we are successful or not! At least we learn what we can and cannot do.

Hey Richard: Yup...and time and time again I tried the seed thing. I improvise (a new thing) and look what transpired!

Very ambitious to try the seed thing. It's like cooking. I always go for the shortcuts--like faster food.

Sally,

Great commentary on truth in relationships. Intellectual intelligence and emotional intelligence are two different "gifts."

Wishing you a great weekend coming up,

Sally,

Just because you can't get the seeds to grow does not mean you can't be a great gardener. It's the constant taking care of the garden that makes a great gardener! I have been purchasing seeds FOR YEARS!!! And only morning glories ever grew for me. Now I buy perennials which you can enjoy every year with very little effort and annuals to change the look of things. Very simple. Happy Gardening:)

Sally, I've killed many orchids before I figured out what I was doing wrong. As with communication, we learn over time, hopefully it's a short time.

Wise words to live by, Sally! Those flowers are indeed beautiful but if I was you, I would have probably gotten some inexpensive seeds and tried anyway.
