QR Codes (Quick Response)---There's an "App" for that!

Lately, I've been seeing QR Codes popping up everywhere. I went to buy some flowers and on the packaging was a QR code. It's similar to the bar codes on the food at the supermarket. Most (if no all) smartphones enable you to download "an app" or program that will allow your phone to read the QR Code. Take a picture of the QR Code & the webpage that is associated with the QR Code will be displayed on your phone. In the case of the flowers, the QR Code auto-populated a particular webpage which gave instructions on how to care for this particular plant. It's pretty cool. No searching for a website & I didn't even have to remember the name of the website. Do you see how this may work for you in your real estate business?

Marty, arn't these great. My son and I went to get a new computer and he scanned this funny looking symbol and it told him all about the product. Gotta love that.

Fortunately or not they are growing in popularity,

But it also takes the face to face out as well as the opportunity to inform the buyer of something they just might not see.

Enjoy the day

there are so many uses of the QR code - yours is the first property search one I've seen. People without a phone that will read a QR code are missing out.

I have an app for that!   (I can't for the life of me figure out how to get it to show up on this comment box, though.  I've tried 3 times :-)  It's a new concept for "local" realtors in this area, although I'm sure the larger franchises have them.  I have my QR code on my business card.  I'm going to put them on my signs, as well.

Terri- I love that fact that I don't need to remember the web address and it puts you write on the particular page instead just the home page

Don- I hear you. Eventually, we still need to be one-on-one to sell homes. We do lose something here, but (good or bad) it's not going away.

Colleen- I can see myself walking down mainstreet & there is a vacant store front for rent. I don't have a pen or paper on me so I snap a picture & I have all the info I need.

Jean- Just save the QR as a Jpeg (picture), don't resize it unless the dimensions rename intact. The upload it lke any other photo. Be careful when publishing it in a newspaper or magazine. They tend to resize and screw it up. Get a proof to test it.
