Wow! After reading a blog about Mike's failed email marketing campaign it caused me to think about social media. I agree that verbal communication is a great tool, but it's certainly not the only tool. I make calls to my data base just like the next REALTOR. I am by no means suggesting that I do not need to make contact over the phone. I like to use verbal contact in conjunction with other avenues of marketing. I like to work smarter, not harder. I'm thinking Ben Kinney would agree! How much ground can you cover making face-to-face contact? For example, if I went door to door in my neighborhood and introduced myself to each an every home owner, could I obtain a lead? Of course I could. I knock on doors the first week in November and deliver mums to my past clients as well as those people in my neighborhood every year.
I personally utilize social media daily and have obtained leads, sold houses, listed houses, helped others, and started a marketing war of sorts. I know social media works and like anything you do it takes a plan. It doesn't happen overnight but persistance is the key!
When I push the "post blog" button I will have posted this to 211,309 ActiveRain members. This does not include the various other places my blog can be seen such as Facebook, my personal website, etc. Not a bad ROI for 30 minutes of my time.
