Am I Dumb For Using Internet Explorer?

While reading the news this morning I stumbled across an article that made me do a double take. From the Fox News site comes, "Internet Explorer Users Are Dumber, Study Shows". Pretty frank, huh?

I guess I find that title offensive since I do in fact use Internet Explorer yet find myself to be pretty technologically savvy.

Having read the article, it pretty much explains how online IQ test results were scrutinized to see which browsers respondents were using. Internet Explorer users scored lowest. Users of the Opera browser are apparently genius.

Well, I have used Chrome, Firefox and all those other browsers. Problem is the same as why I don't use a Mac. It's all about accessibility. The majority of sites I use in a day are not compatible with anything but IE. Sure, there are plug-ins for some of these other browsers that may make them work in an IE-only environment, but still...

Guess I'll just go on being "dumb" but hey, at least I'll have access to all the sites I need to visit. Now where did I put my coffee?

Kris: I use Firefox and Google Chrome because I have had so many incompatibility issues with IE......but I think it may have more to do with the "Extent", that someone uses the Internet...In other words if someone only goes to a few sites and has no issues with IE they will be less likely to go to Google or Firefox...but then again my husband uses IE exclusively.....so I guess this must be true! :)

Interesting...I use IE and Google Chrome equally - so I guess that negates the whole theory!

Interestingly enough I tried some of the other platforms and only had problems. I went back to IE.

IE9 seems to have resolved their shortcomings and is surging again. Can't be the king of the hill for too long in technology, except maybe for big G. Do what makes you comfortable.

Kris, I guess they'll have to call me dumb too. I use Firefox most of the time but our local MLS only uses IE.
