The Picatinny Arsenal is gearing up for it's annual Haunted House recommended for children 7 and up, and adults. Local Girl Scout Troop 901 volunteered their time to help in the spookfest. With chain saw massacre type movies running in a movie theater before the guided tour, you had better be ready for a scare!! "Even the older children get scared,"said Pat McKenna who is the child-youth coordinator at the arsenal. McKenna also is part of the show. Her character wields a bloody butchers knife and blood-spattered chef's smock to frighten and entertain the masses. The haunted house features side trap doors and real people dressed up as ghosts and ghouls in true halloween spirit. Each year the volunteers try to out -do the previous year striving to make the haunted house bigger and better, and of course more frightening. The opening night is Saturday October 20th from 6:30PM-9:30PM and then again on Friday/Saturday October 26th and 27th also from 6:30PM to 9:30 PM. Admission is $7 for adults and $3 for children 12 and under. There will be security inside as well as outside, and rules that will be in place to ensure safety. Traffic will be monitered to keep vehicles moving through the Army base smoothly. The proceeds from admission will be used to fund the arsenal's youth center. It is a good cause and a lot of fun for the volunteers as well as the patrons. So come out to the Picatinny Arsenal and bring the kids, that is........if your not too scared.
