The Charleston Harbor, composed of the Cooper River and the Ashley River, has claimed fame to many historical events it it's lifetime. Seen here is the Cooper River side of Charleston Harbor. Through these waters traveled many a sailors, since early 1700's, including the CSS Hunley in 1863 and it's return in 2000. Charleston Harbor is also home to Fort Sumter and Castle Pickney (used as a prison during the Civil War).
