We Buy Houses | New Orleans LA: Selling your house to take another job in a different state can feel like either a scary proposition or an exciting adventure. It’s probably a little bit of both with most sellers. Any time you move, especially to a new area of the country, there’s an apprehension that goes along with the move. You may know nothing about your new community. In fact, you may not even know what kind of neighborhood you have chosen to live in.
That’s why it may be a wise move to rent before you buy when you move to a new and unfamiliar area. You’ll get a chance to experience the new town or city and will learn what it’s like to actually live there. Many areas of the country have different feels to them. Living on the West Coast, for example, would be very different from living in the Mid West in an agricultural area. Before you jump into the purchase of a new home, rent somewhere first and see how you like the area. You can spend your weekends exploring the new town and what they have to offer. If you find yourself wandering over to the town 10 miles down the highway for their activities, consider buying your house there when you are ready.
When you move a thousand miles away it’s hard to get the flavor of the new area until you are actually living there. With the advent of the internet you can maintain contact with the chamber of commerce, subscribe to the email version of the local weekly paper, and explore virtually. It’s not the same, however, until you really live there. Meet the people in your neighborhood, sign the kids up for school, and join a local community organization. That will give you a good idea of what it’s really like to live there.
Once you have moved and lived in a rental house for awhile, you’ll have a better idea of which local town you want to live in and even which particular neighborhood you’d like to buy a house in. This is a better plan than one in which you sell your current house and purchase another right away in your new town. What if you move and then decide that you should have chosen the area across town instead? Try before you buy would be the idea here. It’s good advice.
Do not spend the time or money repairing your home and getting it ready to show…. We will buy your home “As Is” so you don’t have to do the work. We are as serious about buying your house as you are about selling it. Selling a house is usually an expensive and complicated process. That’s why real estate agents make thousands (sometimes tens of thousands) of dollars on a single sale. But, when we buy your house, there are no commissions to pay and best of all there is no “waiting” involved.
