Real Estate Broker/Owner with Living Albuquerque 16784

Life is good in New Mexico these days.  If you recall, the Los Conchas Fire, the State's largest fire,  started in the Jemez Mountain on June 26, 2011.  It was apparently started when a tree fell on a power line.  As of this past Wednesday, here is the latest stats. on the fire.

Fire is 95% Contained

The fire Burned over 244 square miles

Destroyed 63 homes

For all intents and purpose, it is fully contained.  Crews are mopping up the perimeter.

And as luck would have it...the weather is doing just great for the area.

We lived in Angel Fire for three years - had a fire where we were evacuated twice. Luckily it was contained and no significant damage.  Every time we see massive fires in the news it brings back the memory and emotions of having to evacuate and possibly lose everything. We feel for those who lost their homes.

Good Morning C Lloyd, an excellent update.  This has been a long fire season in New Mexico this year.  Hopefully the next one will be easier!
