A Visit to a Bit O’ Britain in Carlsbad Village, Carlsbad CA
This post was inspired by a recent post by my Brit friend in NJ, Sheldon Neal, who discovered a new source for crumpets in his neighborhood.
Since I have driven by a Bit O’ Britain in Carlsbad Village a number of times without stopping in, Sheldon’s post prompted me to stop by and see if they, too, had crumpets, among other Britishy sorts of stuff.
And they did!
This post is also dedicated to some good British friends, Anthony Kelly here in Encinitas, and Jane Peters in LA.

Bit O’ Britain DOES remind one of shopping in the U.K., at least some of the shops I saw in London. About 98% of their inventory is authentic and imported from the U.K., the balance comes from local British artists and vendors.
Bit O’ Britain stocks lots of teas, tea cups and other tea-making stuff, collectibles and art work, canned, packaged and frozen products, candies and sweets, biscuits, jewelry, t-shirts and lots of souvenirs.
Want some Scotch pies, Cornish pasties, crumpets, or sausage rolls? Got ‘em.
Plus they have frozen bangers, bacon and pork pies.
