Just another day in the real estate world. Day time was spent searching the mls, doing some personal marketing, completed a CMA and also a BMA and then 2 showings for a buyer client of mine in the late afternoon / early evening.
We were just going to view 2 homes tonight. Neither one is bank owned or even a short sale. I know that's a shocker in itself! I meet my client at the first house. I have the showing instructions .... knock first and then use the lock box if nobody is home. Knock - Knock - Knock. No answer, I open the lock box, unlock the door lock and dead bolt and open the door and ...............
The ALARM goes off! Uh, nobody mentioned anything about an alarm. Well maybe it will go off in a minute. Nope! It is ear piercing! I exit the house and call the listing agent. He apologizes and calls his client. He calls 
back within a couple minutes and gives me the alarm code and tells me the location of the key pad as I really didn't even look for it at first. I just got the heck out of there and shut the door, as it wouldn't have done me any good anyways, I didn't have the code the first time.
So I get the alarm shut off and my clients enter the house. I show them the house, the whole time I'm wondering, did this alarm send any kind of a signal to the police??
We finish viewing the home, very nice but unfortunately after all of this it just wasn't the one for my buyers. We walk out on the front porch and here are 2 police cars pulling up in front of the house!
I explained what had happened, showed him my ID and credentials and he could see I was with clients. In the end me and my clients had a good laugh over it all. The listing agent was very apologetic when I talked to him earlier and when I finished with my showings and got back home for the night, my phone rings, it was the seller calling me to apologize. I told them that it was ok. I actually thought it was very nice of them to call.
Not a problem - no worries!
