Beautiful and Balmy at the Beach - Permission Granted!
Yesterday, James Quarello wrote a blog "Remember When All that Mattere
d Was..."
He wrote about, and pictured his 2 girls sitting at the end of the dock by the lake, with their feet in, preparing to take the plunge. He was eloquent about taking the time to partake in life's small pleasures.
Well, his post definitely hit a chord with me since I had been debating whether to meet my daughter and grandsons at the beach.. I had plenty of work to do. But when I read his post, I knew I had to go to the beach and spend some quality time with the grandsons and my daughter.
Here is my comment to his post. "Thanks for the permission! I was thinking of putting my feet in the Pacific Ocean today with the grandkids, but worried about what would not get done. See ya later!"
So I went to the beach and had loads of fun. Truly a great day!
Good for you Sandy. Going to the beach with your daughter and grandsons was the BEST thing you could have done. You cannot replace our quality time with our families.
I schedule personal time each and every day of the week. That way I never get burned out on work, which would be difficult to do anyway since I love m work, but one still needs some personal time to oneself each day.
Hi Jim, Each and everyday? like how much time each day? And do you take at least one whole day personal time? Interesting....
Life offers us only so many days... you made the right choice today! Yeah for all of you :)
Sandy those are moments we can't get back so I am glad you took the time to go to the beach and having fun with your grandson.
So true Jennifer. That is what I remind myself every time this type of thing comes up. The work, or whatever will still be there the next day, but the opportunity with family might not.
Good girl! And if you're like me, you come back from some time like that feeling energized and ready to get even more done!
