Paul - That sculpture reminds me of something my daughter said a couple days ago. She has just returned from Italy and Spain. She said the difference between Venice and Barcelona was that in Venice there were numerous sculptures that were totally nude. But people wore swimsuits at the beach.
Yet, in Barcelona, the sculptures were clothed, but the beaches were nude. She said she liked Barcelona best:-)
Myrl - How funny! Sounds like art in Barcelona and Venice portrays the opposite of what is actually practiced in those countries!
The sculpture in the photo above is across the street from the Richard J. Daley Center in Chicago. I was recently in Chicago and did a little bit of site-seeing while there.
If you are familiar with the original movie, The Blues Brothers, you might recognize the sculpture in one of the movie scenes. Near the end of the movie during the police chase, Jake and Elwood abandon the car they were in which falls apart shortly after they exit the vehicle. For a few moments, they look on at the junked car in silence and the camera shows the sculpture pictured above as if it too is pondering over the situation!
Paul...
I just watched the Blues Brothers again tonight on HDNET. It's a great movie with tons of celebs and lots of awesome music.
Paul - Beautiful photograph! The sculpture is so detailed! I honestly never would have guessed it to be in Chicago! Thank you for sharing.
Lennar Minnesota Loving It
