Thinking of getting a new landing page for a new featured listing or service?
Like all aspects of online marketing for real estate, your page has to be optimized to effectively convert web visitors to qualified leads, and hopefully to real clients. Here are some quick tips on how you can layout your landing page before you send it over to your web designer:
- Keep it simple. Remember, your goal is to have potential clients understand the value of what you’re offering on your landing page. Avoid unnecessary links, otherwise visitors might get distracted and you risk losing them. Minimize the need for clicks and put the form itself on the landing page.
- Lead people, not confuse them. Try not to overwhelm people with too many call to action buttons. Instead, try directing them to one major action on your landing page. At the same time, use positive words to urge people, like “Go on to the next step” or “Send me more information” or “I’d like to know more” instead of “Submit”, which sounds formal and intimidating.
- Go for manageable form fields. Use a simple text box with fields they can type in instead of having way too many drop-down options.
- Keep your design clean. Leave the flashy design out the door and keep a clean, professional layout. Make sure your colors are consistent with your branding. If you’d like to give some offers, limit the number, as with links and call to action options.
