I just can't resist to come back. I am glad that you talked the owner into bringing stainless refrigerator in. And the coffee machine really makes you want to stay. I agree with Kathy that the living room looks much smaller without furniture. And your color choices just making me come back again and again. I'm sure it will sell in no time.

Maureen - Really it was a win, win - had fun staging and got my quota of excercise for the year!  Sure hope the stage attracts lots of attention and gets these penthouses sold!

Wendy - Oh, what fun to come out to Vancouver and staging your son's condo.  The Olympic Village is an amazing location and the condos there are lovely.  Hey, email me if you want to grab a latte and talk staging while you're in town!  Always fun to chat with a fellow CCSP.

Anna - You're back!  You're so funny.  The stainless steel fridge had been pre-ordered but just hadn't been installed yet, so can't take credit for that, but I can take credit for the coffee maker.  It's one of my new favourite props.  It's the Nespresso Citiz coffee maker.  It's very sleek and looks great in condos because it's not too big.  Fingers crossed these penthouses sell quickly!

Linda - Thank you so much!  Well, this won't make a magazine cover, but it will be featured first page in next week's real estate weekly!

Sharon - Aren't those green thingies fascinating?  Just the right colour and texture, too!

Charlene - Well, I'm not usually a "table setter", but in this case, being a show suite, I made an exception.  I think the colours on the table really helped add to the neutral background.  Good to see you here!

Glad I didn't miss the reveal Sally. Fabulous, even without the green bowl but boy would it have looked great in there! (that hurt didn't it). I love the bright green and teal colors. I just bought throw pillows in those colors and can't wait for the perfect spot for them. Oh, love the green brain things too! I stopped setting tables but started again after I have been getting requests for them. I think it is just something people like to see and get ideas from. I know I do when I go into model homes and to me every vacant job is a model home!

Shar - Oh, ouch!  Don't mention the green bowl!  I bet we bought those cushions at the same place...  Ah yes, the great debate continues...  to set the table or not set the table.  I thought about writing a post about it, but it seems to be such an emotional issue among we stagers.  Hope you're surviving your busy week!

Birgit - I keep meaning to post this in our SAR S.S. - Matthew had a huge influence on the choices I made.  Yes, the client is very pleased.

John - The ceramic dog was an easy choice.  We were looking to address the local demographic, and people love their dogs in this area. There are many off-leash dog parks, so the addition of the ceramic dog just helped get this message across.  Thanks again for the heart-felt post re Moose.

Preparing your property for sale

HI Sally, isn't it more interesting to stage condos? I love a modern design so look forward to the few condos that I get to stage. Love the green and blue, those colours are starting to migrate here into this side of the country as well. Sorry about the bowl. Last week I was staring at a glass piece I had placed on a table so that I wouldn't knock it off the table. You guessed it. I knocked it off the table, now it's in two pieces.

I don't set tables unless it is a model home. There seems to be such a debate as to whether to set a table or not. I still think it reminds people of the dining room of older days when the dining room was never used and tables were set to make the lady of the house feel like at least it wasn't a total waste of space but could still look interesting. I love your modern table scape.  I was a guest speaker at Urban Barn recently and the topic was table scapes. It was well received by the invited clients of Urban Barn. A little over 75 people came to the after hours event. Those numbers tell me that people are getting interested in table scapes again.

Michelle - Isn't it Murphy's Law that the more you covet something, the higher the chances it will break!  Yes, I love staging condos, and when they are vacant, you have a nice, plain canvas to start with.  I don't enjoy the sometimes difficult access to parking, and messing around with all those key fobs but the pros definitely outweight the cons.

I feel that in an occupied home that is staged, it's a bit creepy to walk into the dining room and see the table set, as if you're walking into a dinner party that you weren't invited to.  It's really a personal thing, and I know everyone has their own opinions on this.  Setting the table for a show suite is fine though, because everyone knows that no one lives there.  I don't know, somehow it's different.  Interesting to hear the feedback from your Urban Barn presentation.  Hey, that's a great turnout, too.  Always good to hear from you, Michelle.
