Hmmm….one of my main sources, especially for live music, doesn’t appear to have updated their caldendar for this week, so if you know of an event that I am missing, please, please, please post it in the comments!
Underwood-Petersville Community Center All You Can Eat First Saturday Breakfast. Scrambled eggs, sausage, bacon, grits, biscuits, pancakes, chocolate gravy, sausage gravy, orange juice, regular and de-caf coffee. Adult plates are $5. Children age 12 and under $3. All proceeds are for center expenses. We serve from 6-9am.
The Muscle Shoals Amateur Radio Club monthly meeting meets the first Saturday of the month (which is today!) at the Florence Harbor Marina Restaurant at 9am. A regular program of interest follows a short business meeting, and is open to all Amateur Radio operators. Anyone with an interest in Amateur Radio is welcome and encouraged to attend.
The Ride for Melissa Poker Run, in honor of Taylor Grace McClain (Taterbug) is today, with registration from 9am-11am at the Florence Moose Lodge, 4270 Chisholm Rd., Florence. Entry fee is $15 for 1 rider/ 1 hand or $20 for 2 riders/ 2 hands. All riders will be given a ticket for a free bowl of chicken stew & a can drink to redeem after the ride.. Riders leave the Lodge at 11am & return 3pm-4pm. All proceeds go directly to the Melissa George Neonatal Memorial Fund at Huntsville Hospital Foundation. Florence Parks and Recreation is having a special Saturday registration today at the Florence SportsPlex from 9-noon for Youth Soccer (ages 4-12), cheerleading, and Youth football (ages 6-12 for both). For more information, contact Mike Horton at the Athletic office (256-760-6628).
