Foreign investing through Equity Joint Ventures (EJV) between a Chinese partner and a foreign entity is incorporated in both Chinese and in English, with limited liability. In the EJV model, the partners share profits, losses and risk in equal proportion to their respective contributions to the ventures registered capital.
A foreign investor may invest through any of the following methods:
- by acquiring shares in an investment pool;
- through acquisition of an investment;
- participating in an equity joint venture;
- through direct capital investment in professionally managed portfolios
