Clint McKie of Carlsbad, New Mexico blogged about HUD Money available homeowners facing foreclosure.  This is great news, except that most banks are not onboard.  The government programs over the past three years have been a failure.  I hope that moving forward it will b more useful.

One billion dollars available for refinancing homes.

According to this information the United States Housing and Urban Development has made one billion dollars available for refinancing of homes in risk of foreclosure.

Follow the link and read all about it.

Hud and Neighborworks America announces

This "EMERGENCY HOMEOWNERS HELP PROGRAM" Or referred to as (EHLP) will help struggling homeowners at risk of foreclosure.

I have seen posts where there are some areas that over 50% of home for sale are in "short sale" or starting the "Foreclosure process".

These funds can and will help homeowners fight foreclosure. Although all states have not signed on to this help. Twenty seven states have. Check and see if your state is one of the many that have these funds available.

That would be a good thing if the banks would go along and help the consumer.

Like many of the previous government programs to assist distressed homeowners, the government forgot to communicate this to the banks and these banks have no intention of making these high risk loans.

C Lloyd,

Thanks for the re-blog. I was distressed this morning to find out that many government programs are only available to minorities. I sure hope this is not one of them. I have a friend who has fallen on hard times and they cannot afford to feed the family towards the end of the month although both husband and wife work. I asked her if she applied for food stamps and she told me she did not qualify because she was not a minority. That question should not be asked if you need food you need food; if you need help to pay your mortgage you need help.

Hello Lloyd,

Thanks for the repost.

There is still a lot of untapped funds out there.

All we need to do is find them.

Have a great day,

Clint Mckie
