Ok, today as I am re-doing our presentation on Power Point. I am looking for some input in regards to what you all feel is better.

Paper or Computer???

I am a technology freak and believe my computer and the Internet is always the answer. But as for some people who have not adjusted to the Internet, do you feel that it is also very crucial to have a paper presentation just as it is important to have your presentation plugged into power point.

Also, I am also looking for some feedback in what makes a powerful presentation. I am a strong believer that things need to be switched up once in awhile and I am always looking for any new ideas.

I use a combination of both so that the potential client can follow along and make notes.

Here is my take on Power Point! They make you look computer savy with this in mind. Just think if your presentation is not suited for this person it may turn them away. I have seen all the bells and whistles in the program and they are not used very often because of content. Who wants to read something moving all of the time. I would go paper or website with virtual tours. This gives them choice.

Know your client and market area. I need to revamp mine and I'm thinking of combining the two. With the computer at hand, this will impress some and turn off others. I can guage the reaction and adlib - the computer can always go on in the background! Plus, paper provides a great backup if there is a techno glitch.

I'm not sure I'd focus on online (right now I don't have broadband) just because of the lack of control. I think I'd still use the powerpoint or a "taped" internet session.

I stopped using powerpoint last year in favor of Keynote on the Mac. Now that I can run windows on the Mac, I am able to use all my windows specific apps that are not available in mac specific versions.

I always keep a color printout of my listing preso in my bag... just in case my computer goes belly up. The computer is the way to go tho. I have video, audio, etc. incorporated into the preso that must makes it really engaging.

We're actually at the same fork in the road, but I think we're going to use both as I feel a hard-copy is something that is important to someone that is going to drop $5000-10,000+ with you on the sale or purchase of their home.

I like the balanced approach. When I discuss how I market, and the role of the WWW, then I have a little PPT that includes the important statistics on where buyers come from (90% of the time another Realtor) and the fact the 95% of buyers start their search on the Internet, and less thatn 13% use newspapers and magazines as a source of prospective properties.

I think it depends on the client. With most clients, I actually prefer a presentation that is mostly us talking to each other. Too much paper or too much computer screen can actually interfere with the presentation and the message that I am trying to convey. I try to use either paper of computer as more of a prop than as a main presentation tool.

I personally do both! I have my presentation on paper then have their CMA on my laptop so I may go back to any other information that the sellers ask about.

It gives you more options and this way not everything is on either paper or computer!

Computers are great. I am very techy, but people want something they can touch feel and put in their desk to look at later. A power point presentation just can't do that. You can incorporate the computer in to the presentation for showing some aspects of what we do, but I wouldn't make it the whole presentation.
