Hey everyone. It's been an exciting week. Very busy and now it looks like we will be in 2 episodes for the TV where they fix up your home. (I can't disclose the name).
It's been a whirlwind, and that's an understatement. I have to say the cast and crew and homeowners have all been super super nice. And, they all LOVED the work, so that was great to hear.
So last Tues, my guys did a sanding & refinishing job overnight...since that's how these shows work - everything in a snap and using fast drying water based poly. They decided they wanted to add me to that episode, so got my hair done and rushed over on Weds. As I arrived, the cameras were rolling and they greated me and just kept them rolling. they got me in and out in 5 minutes. Incredible.
Today, was the main episode for me. The plan was to re-enact what our discussion consultation from 2 weeks ago. But, of course, nothing goes as planned when you are working with old homes. We had plans to refinish those floors, too...but....of course, when they ripped up the vinyl, there was no hardwood to be anywhere...only plywood. SNAG.
So, we literally had to improvise and you'll see it on the show. It was 3:30pm and I had to find a way to get hardwood flooring there by tomorrow morning. Check! Gotta love my good friend, Bob who came through me for me in a pinch. It will be there between 9-10am. Then, and this was the trickier part...had to switch crews and find guys to help out for tomorrow night for over night work...which would normally not be a problem except that I've sold so many jobs that we have 2 crews booked solid for every day this week. It wasn't looking good. Initially, it was looking like I was going to have to bump one of my customers...and believe me, I wanted to avoid that like the plague....Thankfully, we got all resolved by 5:30 with none of my regular customers affected.
So, crossing my fingers that all is okay tomorrow, w/ 2 jobs, finishing up several others, an evening job and then 2 more for Weds.
I need a VACATION.
