Herald Days August 2011

Were else can you attend a parade, a wedding and a mud volleyball game all in one afternoon? That was the agenda at Herald Days, an annual event that takes place in Herald California, a small country town in rural Sacramento County with a population of 1728. 

The day is sunny and filled with the spirit of the community. The parade starts with the community’s antique and classic car enthusiasts , followed by many horse groups’, local farms and ranches, a rescue mule team, school floats, local business floats and ends with a community wedding.

  

 

Several antique tractors and miscellaneous farm equipment was present. The local Caterpillar dealer, Holt of California brought in a tractor display which included the latest model of their skidsteer, backhoe and 924 wheel loader.

 

The community park held an auction, face painting, vendor’s booths, bounce houses and play areas for the kids. The mud volleyball pits were setup behind the Herald store and several teams were present.
