Take a Few Moments for Gratitude

It's so easy, with all the bad news around us, to feel overwhelmed and very cranky. And, trust me, I've done my share of being in that kind of mood. But when it all starts to feel like way too much for me, I know it's time to do something very old-fashioned: count my blessings.

Gratitude

I give thanks for the many, many wonderful people and things in my life:

* For my family, who love me and are always there for me - and who receive my love and support.

* For my friends, who have always been a wider circle of love and support in my life.

* For the fact that Herb and I have enough. Enough to live in a great place, enough to eat, enough to be safe and whole.

* For my health and the health of all of those I love. We are well and robust.

* For great clients and the immense joy it gives me to work with them.

* For all the richness my senses bring me in every moment: The delicate sound of birdsong in the early morning, the natural beauty I see here outside my kitchen window, the welcome scent of freshly brewed coffee that starts my day, the tasty crunch of my morning cereal, and the warm feel of Herb as we share a morning hug.

* And, of course, no gratitude list could possibly be complete without my fun and supportive AR community of friends.

What blessings can you count this morning?

I do the same thing when I start acting grumpy (a.k.a.--acting like a spoiled brat.)  I am very fortunate and need to take more time to realize it.

Hi Chris Ann - It's a pain when the grumpies descend - and always a bad sign when I can hear myself whining... This is a good antidote.

Judy, I tend to forget to stop and count my blessings. Everyday life just rolls over one. Then something happens to bring life back into focus and we appreciate the smaller blessings that are oh so important.

Hi Janice - It's true of most of us, I think. It's good to change our thought patterns once in a while and really appreciate all that we have.

Hi Ron - Thank you. It's very true, and so important to remind ourselves every now and then about how lucky and blessed we are to have such special people in our lives.

Judy - whenever we look at life as you, are we feel less like a victim of circumstance and become much more grateful for what we have, rather than wish for things we don't. Great attitude and you after reading your post - it's obvious you already have all the important things in life - your glass is half full!

HI Kristine - It's really true, isn't it? It's very easy to feel bad, but when we list even just a few of the wonderful people and things we have in our lives, we suddenly remember that life is good.

Judy,

I am thankful for people like you. Before the RAIN, I was lost. Then I found the RAIN and I have been so much happier.
