Where are you from?
I was born and raised in El Paso, Texas. We moved to Colorado in August of 1999 after having visited my husband's family in May. I immediately fell in love with the out door lifestlye, downtown Denver and Boulder and told my husband,"now this is a place that I can call home". Three months later, here we were. It was a great choice. I love it here!
How long have you been in the Real Estate business and where did you get your start?
I started my real estate career in El Paso and sold my first home on my first day of sitting at open house to Tommy and Rosa! When we moved here, I put my future career on hold until our kids graduated from high school. I got my license in February of 2006 and joined Keller Williams Preferred Realty, where I currently hold my license.
What are your long term goals in life and business?
My long term goals are reflective of how I live currently. I stay active and running my second marathon this year. My goal is to continue running and follow the example of the 70+ year old that you see out there. They are my true hero's. I also enjoy mountain biking and just got a new Ibis for my marriage anniversary that we are celebrating today, August 10th!
My future goals also involve being the best grandma that I can be and take my grandchildren on wonderful trips with me and their grandpa. Well, that is when we have grand kids! Real estate will forever be a part of my life, it is my livelihood and I enjoy helping people find their treasured home and all the perks that come along with it: like being self employed, taking all holidays off, working 24/7. I started my team this year and welcomed my son in law to my group, so I hope to build a successful family owned empire for our future generations.
Is there a particular area of Real Estate that you enjoy focusing on more than others?
I delve into all realms of real estate and enjoy certain aspects that are associated with each niche. If I had to choose a favorite, I'd say I enjoy working with my sellers to market and sell their homes the most.
But the most satisfaction I get, is sitting at the closing table with my buyers and seeing their excitement about their new home and giving them that big congratulations hug at the end
What is your favorite hobby outside of work?
I love the outdoors and enjoying the beautiful nature. As I mentioned, running, biking are my passions.
I also enjoy hiking, camping, white water rafting. I love getting pedicures at "Hobby" nails, with my daughter.
What is your craziest “Real Estate” related story?
The latest, very recent one was a lady from Boulder called the cops on me for having left a piece of marketing material at her door. She demanded that I come back and collect my trash from her neighborhood and not visit again. She refused to give me her address so I can't ensure that I will never leave papers at her door again. I think I may mail out my marketing pieces instead. My approach was to have my team step outside the box and walk the extra mile to stop by and say "Hi" and "how may we help you". You win some, you lose some and doesn't every realtor know that such is life in the world of real estate!
