24th Great Inland Seafood Festival August 11-14 2011 in Newport Kentucky

Now the banks of the Ohio River might not be your first thought for a Seafood Festival, but now entering its 24th year, the Great Inland Seafood Festival is ready to kickoff tomorrow! Just across from Cincinnati on the Newport side of the Ohio River, you're going to have more opportunity to eat seafood than you'll have stomach space!

They truck in Maine Lobsters, so that $10.95 each price will beat anyplace else in town! But with ONLY 10,000 lobsters, we wouldn't suggest waiting long to make your visit! And in additional to all those Maine lobsters, 15 local restaurants will be creating the best tasting shrimp, crawfish, oysters & fish dishes they can make!

And in addition to the food, there will be plenty of live entertainment too!

The event itself is free, but of course the food and drinks are going to cost you! Plenty of parking in the area too (that may cost you depending on where you park).

Just go down to the Newport on the Levee and get to the riverbank from there!

Event Hours:

Thursday & Friday, 5 p.m. - 11 p.m.

Saturday noon - 11 p.m.

Sunday noon - 9 p.m.

Hi Bliz, I love seafood, and that $10.95 for a lobster dinner sounds like a real bargain. I wish I could come to visit Maine Lobsters for this weekend.

Lenn, Yes it is, at least for around here :) Now in Maine, that might be a bit high :) I think when we visited we were getting twin 1 1/4 pounders with the corn on the cob for about $20, but my memory is a wee bit rusty on that.

Michael, A LOT cheaper than going to Kroger, and they'll get 'em cooked right up!

I just came back from Boston,MA and I carried back a Main Lobster (3lbs) there is nothing better than Main Lobsters:)) p.s.: I will do a couple blog post about it. The price was similar, but let's face it I was closer to the source:))

Endre, That was one of the things we enjoyed about Boothbay Harbor :) Going to the dock restaurants right where they offloaded the lobsters. You knew they were TOTALLY fresh off the boat and tasted great! Sit out on the patios/decks and just enjoy the views and the weather. Absolutely FANTASTIC :)
