Houston Restaurant Weeks 2011

Last year’s Houston Restaurant Week raised record-setting donation commitments from participating restaurants and sponsors of $585,562 for the Houston Food Bank!

"Houston Restaurant Week offers an inspired opportunity to take action on behalf of families and individuals who suffer from hunger," said Brian Greene, CEO of the Houston Food Bank. "Each diner at a participating restaurant will provide 15 meals for a hungry child or adult in southeast Texas. Those meals are provided each week to 137,000 individuals who turn to food pantries, senior centers, soup kitchens and shelters for nourishment."

Restaurants are creating 2 or 3 Course Lunch Menus for $20 and 3 or 4 Course Dinner Menus for $35 for the entire month of August in support of HRW and they are making a donation each time a diner orders the menu.

Visit the web site at www.HoustonRestaurantWeeks.com and decide where you would like to dine.  You can search for restaurants by lunch, dinner, cuisine and neighborhood.  Over 130 restaurants are participating this year!

Dining reservations are generally required but restaurants may accept walk-ins at their discretion.  When making your reservations, mention that you would like the HRW special menu.

How does the donation get to the Houston Food Bank?
It's easy! Just like any other dining experience, pay your bill at the end of your meal. The restaurants have pledged to donate $5 per HRW dinner sold, and $3 per HRW lunch sold to the Houston Food Bank.

Now get out there and eat - it's the right thing to do!
