While I don't miss the Chicago weather I do occasionally miss the food. However my husband and I have come up with an easy solution,which is just have our favorite foods shipped down to us. Besides the deep dish pizza we also miss the Italian Beef's from Portillo's, so every now and then we'll have some shipped down.
Michelle, Chicago might be on our road trip itierary, and I' certainly add this place to the list o placeg to see and taste.
Barbara - Italian Beef!!! I'm from Naperville and while I didn't eat Portillo's on a regular basis when grewing up there it is one of those places I miss a lot along with deep dish pizza.

You are killing me! Here in Southwest Florida there is no such thing as an Italian Beef with sweet peppers or a good hot dog. Portillo's has some great ones. My son loved there hot dogs plain. Me, drag it through the garden! Enjoy the day!
I am not from Chicago so I don't get it :) I like food though so I am sure Portillos is good!!
