Indianapolis to Chicago Getaway - Obviously!

By
Real Estate Agent with Keller Williams Indianapolis Metro NE RB14023803

Navy Pier Ferris Wheel, ChicagoIt may be a case of stating the obvious, but I’ll say it anyway: A road trip from Indianapolis to Chicago is a perfect weekend get-away! Highlights of a recent trip included a fabulous Italian dinner at Rosebud on Rush, an (accidental) stroll through some beautiful old neighborhoods, shopping, shopping and more shopping along the Magnificent Mile and Navy Pier, Chicagoa ride on the Navy Pier Ferris Wheel. All obvious choices? Yes. All fun and memorable choices? Yes and YES!

And now that I think about it, considering how often we fail to take advantage of what’s practically in our own backyard no matter where that “backyard” may be stating the obvious isn’t necessarily a bad thing!

Driving distance from Indianapolis to Chicago: 183 miles or about 3 hours, 21 minutes

What you’ll see along the way: lots of cornfields, (again with the obvious!) the exit for Purdue University, some super creepy windmills, and the outskirts of Gary, Indiana.

Pat, did you just spend the day in Chicago, or just drive in for the day?  Next time you go, email me ahead of time and I'll give you a list of my favorite Chicago restaurants - like only the locals know, LOL.

Hi Pat, I have enjoyed trips to Chicago.  Love the bridges, seeing the BlackHawks play and shopping.  Love your comment about fail to take advantage of what is in your own backyard.  You are definitely enjoying!

Sounds like fun it has been a while since we were back in Chicago.

I love the Navy Pier and walking along the lake during the day or night it is beautiful.

I will have to talk to my husband about planning another trip that way:)

Hi Pat~ Glad to hear you were able to come and enjoy my home town.   As for the "creepy windmills" I kinda thought they were cool..... but man are there a lot of them.Indiana Windmill Farm

For Mona #5 not sure if the picture really does it justice there are literally hundreds of them in rows.
