Helpful Hints & Tips For This Heat!

Real Estate Agent with Heritage Real Estate Group(DFW)

Did you know???

Heat is the number one weather-related killer in the United States each and every year. Multiple days of extreme heat claim more lives than tornadoes, hurricanes, lightning and floods each year combined. Make sure and take substantial amounts of water when you are showing off those listings. Be smart and don’t assume this heat wave we are experiencing won’t affect you. Rates of dehydration increase at an alarming rate when there are continual days of heat in the triple digits.

Helpful Tips

Limit your outdoor activity to morning and evening hours. Cut down on exercise. If you must exercise, drink two to four glasses of cool fluids each hour. A sports beverage can replace the salt and minerals you lose in sweat. Warning: If you are on a low-salt diet, talk with your doctor before drinking a sports beverage. Try to rest often in shady areas. Protect yourself from the sun by wearing a wide-brimmed hat (also keeps you cooler) and sunglasses and by putting on sunscreen of SPF 15 or higher (the most effective products say “broad spectrum” or “UVA/UVB protection” on their labels).

Hi Mike, great tips for dealing with the heat. It's hot here in St George Utah too, but at least we don't have the high humidity that some parts of the country do.
