Thanks for going "Above and Beyond" - Oh wait, I didn't.

Thanks for going "Above and Beyond", Oh wait, I didn't.Thanks for going "Above and Beyond" - Oh wait, I didn't.

When the doorbell rang on Wednesday evening, it brought with it an unexpected surprise. A flower delivery!  As I carried the flowers inside, my mind raced with the "who and the why."  It wasn't an anniversary or a birthday, and my husband didn't have anything to apologize for - or did he?

It turns out - no, he didn't. And, when I opened the attached card, it read, "Thanks for going "Above and Beyond," it meant so very much to us," signed by my clients. We had recently closed on the sale of their home.  I called immediately to thank them, and these are the reasons they gave for sending the flowers.

You sold our house so quickly, from list to close, in 75 days.

The reason? It was priced perfectly and the marketing efforts were focused on the appropriate demographics using a variety of resources.

You handled all the details - all we had to do was sign papers.

    The reason? That's my job.

You always kept us in the loop.

The reason? You deserve to know what's going on, even if nothing is going on...
(I call my listing clients at least once a week with a status report.)

You treated us with great kindness and respect.

The reason? You deserve to be treated in that manner.

You explained things so clearly.

The reason? I do this for a living.

You were fun to be around.

The reason? I truly enjoy helping people and love what I do.

Thanks for going "Above and Beyond", Oh wait, I didn't.

The bottom line - I did not go "Above and Beyond," for these clients - I just did my job. It was my great pleasure to work for them and it warms my heart that they are so pleased with my service. You can be sure that I smile every time I look at that beautiful bouquet of flowers. It's a great reminder as to why I  "do my job."

Starting together in an urban environment, over the years we've gravitated towards areas with smaller populations and less density. Hi Deb,  What a great post.  Sometimes doing our job seems so out of proportion to those we help.  Sounds like your clients found a great pro to work with !  Have a terrific weekend.

I've said to people many times "I just did my job". The comment back which I remembre most is the Owner who said "Yes, but so many people DON'T".

Howdy Bill, thanks so much for the Friday visit. Yes, it's true, I guess good customer service is still "quite appreciated." I'm happy for that and your kind words. Hope you too, have a great weekend.

Janet, Thank you too for the visit and taking the time to leave your kind comments.

I am enjoying the flowers, I'm not really a "get flowers" kind of woman, which my husband knows. I'd rather see them growing in a garden, then eventually wilting in a vase, but I must say they've been a beautiful addition to my week.

Take care Janet!

Kerrie,  Shouldn't you be babysitting your precious little nephew? Yes, you nailed it, icing on the cake.  Thanks for the visit and taking a minute to leave your sweet comments. And, have fun will the tiny one this weekend.

Leslie, That's very sad to hear isn't it? Fortunately, I know quite a few good realtors - although, I do know a few .... well you know.  Thanks for the visit.

Maria - It is nice to appreciated isn't it? Speaking of which, I appreciate your visit and your comment. Have a great weekend.

Debb - so nice to be recognized for a job well done and enjoy the flowers - they look perfect in the spot you put them in and are a nice reminder that you do go above and beyond for your clients and it doesn't go unnoticed! Suggest too - nice to hear good news for a change!

Debb - That's a wonderful tribute to you.  Beautiful flowers.  You certainly deserve to be appreciated.  I can tell from your posts on my blog that you are a caring and thoughtful person.  I'm sure that what you deliver as a professional is more than just the basics.  It's who you are as a person that your clients are showing appreciation for, not just a job well done.

But Debb you did go above and beyond much earlier as you made deliberate choices to be the best and practiced top notch representation. Well deserved thanks.

Thank you all for the kind words and I appreciate your perspectives - obviously you too believe in the "Above and Beyond"  treatment as business as usual. I think there are more great Realtors, than not. Sadly, we generally hear the stories about the "nots."  I will make comments on your blogs.  :)

How did I miss this one??? Perhaps it was due to being doubled over in extreme pain from a nasty kidney infection... or maybe it was my pole-dancing class that did me in... either way, I loved the post.  What might be 'all in a days work' to you... obviously meant the world to your clients Debb... and rightfully so!  You are clearly cut from a very fine silk cloth... like no other.  Wrap yourself in the loveliness of those flowers... they're beautiful... just like you!

Anita - Thanks, you are example of setting the bar high.  It's good to have met you in AR and now I know an exemplary Realtor in Warner Robins to refer clients.

Mel - Aw, sorry to hear, my daughter just had one of those -  (kidney infection, not pole-dancing class, not that's there's anything wrong with that ;) ) so I know how painful they can be...

Thanks for your kind words. I so appreciate you - enchanting princess.
