I think photos on signs are a win-win.  I get more sign calls because buyers become familiar with me & those sign calls translate to sales for my sellers

I do not use my photo on my Real Estate signs. My theory is that I've never gained a client as a result of my looks, but that I could easily lose one or two!

Wow quite the number of responses.  I'm a property stylist (professional home stager) and I don't have my picture on my business card but do on my website and blogging sites.

Kerriewe have our 'image' on our marketing materials and social network sites but NOT on our listing signs...  Margaret's response (#12) made me laugh out loud...  Our signs wouldn't be BIG enough for us to do that anyway!!! LOL

I've seen too many signs that have been defaced.  Too often when I meet the realtor they don't look like the picture since the photo was taken so long ago.  Photos everywhere else, but not on the sign.

I have not.  I find most agents looking nothing like the picture and I do not want to get into that habit.  It is about the house.

Cards, yes. Signs, no. Most of the times when I give cards to someone I get to see who it is I'm giving it to. Putting a face on a yard sign and having random people call wanting to see it makes me a little anxious.

I use my photo on my cards, but not my signs.  Some signs with photos can be effective, others, though, appear smug and arrogant (my clients telling me, not just my personal viewpoint, but I do agree, some do).  I think if you have a nice clean sign with a readable name and number, perhaps a rider with text code, or QR code, it is sufficient.  If interested they will check out your listing on your website or or wherever, and see your mug soon enough (in my case I look younger than my picture LOL ha!).  I put it on my card because I figure most folks are somewhat like me and collect a bundle of cards that they throw in a drawer or someplace; having my pic on it reminds them of who I am, perhaps what we spoke about.  On my next lot I'm going to have it on the back of the card, though.  Gives them a reason to fidgit while we talk LOL.

I do and I think especially if you're a new agent, it's very important.  I've had many people come up to me and say, "I know who you're Olga on the For Sale sign".  I think it's a good thing :)!

I don't have my photo on my sign...I personally think it is better not to have it on there.

I don't have my photo on my sign but do use my logo.  It's time for a sign makeover so this has given me something to think about before making the commitment.

Heck no. The ghouling smiling agent, broker, REALTOR is not what they want to see in a rural Maine market. It's tons of information, plenty of listing inventory and service. Not ego, no look at me and my little jack horner awards. But how hard we work to stock the buffet of real estate shelves with all prices, types, locations of real estate. Feed them, heap up those property plates. And make it easy, not black belt hard to maneuver. Video, real full motion video with audio that is 40% of the video is the number one tool in the marketing arsenal by far. With me the broker in the background being the tour guide not front and center hogging the camera. Think real estate buyer, a busy one that wants to be fed like a drive through. Video does it so slick using the eyes and ears. Any hour of the day, any zip code or nation.

I don't use photos on business cards or signs.  Just online.  I don't like photos on signs when I see them, and business cards have to be a pretty darn good photo in my opinion.  I know a lot of people have differing opinions though. -Kasey

I did have a picture of me on the signs.  A) I got quite a few mustaches, which ruined the sign.  But the real kicker and when I stopped was when I got a few completely creepy men who called, mentioning my looks, etc.  ENOUGH, I only had to go to one of those meetings and that was enough. ( I took my husband to THAT appointment)

I like having pictures on cards, because it's easier for me to connect voices with faces.    Since the comments here seem almost universal in opposition, perhaps I should reconsider, but it seems that most agents here do use pictures, and not having been in Tennessee for a good bit of the 30 years I've been in real estate, I do like having people recognize me.   I do wish everyone wore name tags.

I think that wherever you use your photo as a realtor, you should be smiling.  I understand attorneys trying to look tough or serious, but not Realtors.
