Stone Soup Cafe on 16th Street, just north of 38th Avenue N in St Petersburg Florida was my destination for lunch today. I was meeting with a dear friend, Natalie. We go back many years, from the days when I was teaching here in the Pinellas County School System.
Natalie is a high school art instructor and this is her LAST day off before the new school year begins for the school board employees. It was great getting together and the Stone Soup Cafe is a place we both love!
We started with the fish spread with crackers and cucumbers.........the fish spread comes from Indian Rocks Beach according to Natalie. It is always fresh and a wonderful beginning to any meal!
Then I had the Stone Soup Salad which has mixed greens, sprouts, apples, dried cherries, feta and cashews. That is a fresh baked muffin on the side and I had olive oil and vinegar to go with it. Talk about a little bit of heaven!
The place is usually packed for lunch since everyone around knows that this little cafe has fantastic, healthy food that is always fresh! I highly recommend the Stone Soup Cafe if you want to have a wonderful meal!
