IS HE OR ISN'T HE???  WILL HE OR WON'T HE???  DOES ANYONE CARE???  HA!  THE PLOT THICKENS!

UPDATE:  HE'S IN!!  HEY, THIS PLACE JUST GOT MORE INTERESTING.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The most favorable thing about Gov. Perry is that he will be perceived by many as a
A giant among Pygmies
Gulliver among Lilliputians.  Oops.
As Gulliver discovered, "depending on the favor of a single powerful man like the Emperor can result in the downfall of innocent people".
Of one thing we can all be sure.  The Republican field for President of the United States is about to add one more candidate and this one will:
Move and Shake
Add some drama
Add some fun
Confirm that the truth is stranger than fiction
Adding some spice to the stew gives it flavor
Make all the rest shake in their boots
Wait, Perry is the one with cowboy boots.  I believe that the present Republican field is populated with folks who wear slippers.
I for one welcome Governor Perry in the race.  The others have repeated their talking points so many times that they are just all one big broken record.
Governor Rick Perry will NOT be a broken record.
THE PLOT THICKENS.
                                Gov. Perry
Lenn - It will be interesting to see the reaction once he's on the campaign trail. And BTW, I think most of the current candidates wear "flip-flops."
Juli.  I'm sick of the blah, blah, blah too.
Of course, there's a good explanation for that.  WE'RE LISTENING TOO MUCH!!!   HA!    No matter.  I'm a political animal.  I listen to everything . . . .  and VOTE!!!
John.  HA!  Good one!!!  Much better than slippers, although both quite apt.
Hi Lenn, I am still somewhat reserved and unsure at this time about some of the candidates. Some I don't care for, others are intriguing and yet others have yet to get up and shake the trees. They say , it's all about the money. Most things are I am afraid. He who has the gold usually gets the prize. At the moment at least the money seems the least of the concerns.  The debate showed that politicians no matter the party, are in the end just politicians. I found it more than disgusting that some have a greater  desire to beat each other up than to focus the way forward under their leadership. They can all be assured that the press has plans to continue on that focus long past their debate and right up to the election.
William.  I'm neither reserved nor unsure in the least.  There is not one candidate for President today that I wouldn't vote for over Obama.
Simple as that.  Let them shake it out themselves.   Why?  Because I have a simple question.  What's the alternative to whomever the GOP runs???  Since the alternative in any case of who wins is Obama, I'll vote for whomever wins.
I'm happy also....this is really ours to lose, and we all know that we can easily defeat ourselves. So I've  high hopes for Perry. He has already done in Texas what I hope to see nationwide. Lower taxes, more jobs and a thriving economy. Giddy Up
Karen.  Indeed.  Things have just gotten very interesting.  Yee Haa!!
Paul.  Yep.  The Chicago machine has been busy at work getting ready for this moment.  Perry is tough.  He can dish it out too.  The politics of personal destruction will be out tomorrow in full force.
Lenn I am sure that there will be more candidates before election time comes around.  I only hope that one of them has a better answer then we have seen so far.
Lenn - I was responding to Lyn #3 who said she already was saying "Who Cares!" - I know you care that is why I featured this post.
Exciting and entertaining - I can choose more interesting words to describe you, Lenn...
Nickolas.  My mistake.
I actually listened to Perry's speech today when he declared.  I very rarely listen to politicians.  I want to throw things at the TV.
However, I listened and watched Perry today and thought the speech rather low key.
He's capable of much better and we're going to be in for some treats.
I also like Thadeous McCotter.  Probably not a chance but I greatly admire him.
My only fear abou pery and I hope I am wrong, is that he is just a shilll for Romney like thompson was in the last campaign. He may come in and siphon enough Tea Party votes to allow Romney to win the nomination. I still do not feel Romney is electable and we would be in the same situation as last time.
Hugh.  I don't believe that Perry is a shill for anyone.  I agree with you about Romney not being electable.  When it comes to beating Obama, Romney's far to civilized.  It's not going to be easy to beat the Chicago machine.  He can't shake the RomneyCare in Mass.
It's just might take a cowboy.
Lenn,
Rumor had it here in Texas a year ago that Perry was going to run for President and he has a lot of supporters, especially from the Real Estate community. By the way, I love the drawing of him in your post.
Good or bad... to be determined. Right now, I'm for anyone over Obama. It's been a disaster since he took office. We need a strong leader and leaders to run this country. Mistakes have been made, we need a STRONG, ETHICAL, HONEST Leader to step into the President's shoes and turn this country around.
I wonder what would happen if Presidential candidates had to fill out a Disclosure, just like home owners fill out a Seller's Disclosure and had to be held accountable?
The press will go after him and try to trip him up like they do the rest of the field.  Had they gone after the Great Imam like that he would have folded early.
Patricia.  HA!  I would suspect that a disclosure statement from a politician would have about the same value as that from a home seller, NONE.  We'd still need our own inspection.
Jay.  BINGO.  The press gave Obama a pass and even promoted him.  All but Fox will do so again.
