Every once in awhile it’s nice to check in to ActiveRain and let our members know what we’ve been up to. Bob Stewart gave me the idea with his Random Thoughts: Light Sabers, Facebook Lists and Geeky Girls to express personal thoughts through my writing.
I suppose it’s a different aspect to my usual writing about one topic but I’ll be able to cram a bunch into one post lol.
ActiveRain has been my ‘savior’ of sorts throughout these past few years. I have learned, I have grown and I’ve made oh so many friends. Though I’ve met many in real life there are a many more that I long to meet!
Years and over 800,000 points later as well as 1,260 posts written....
I remain loyal to ActiveRain.
Personal Tribulations have kept me from writing as much on ActiveRain. I will be a first time grandmother in a few short weeks (we think earlier) when baby Brayden peeks out into the world to a loving family awaiting his arrival with outstretched arms. I will patiently wait my turn to cradle him in my arms and cry with the joy that my daughter will experience with her first born.
Real Estate. I’ve switched gears throughout the last year and though I am still doing a few sales I am also working full time in Property Management and Administration for Century 21 Liberty Homes. It just seemed like the most sensible thing to do when sales were down and given an offer I couldn’t refuse. J A full life in the business to say the least and still working to excel in achievement receiving my CRS designation in 2011 and being an Aloha Aina Award Nominee for the past two years.
I thank Bob Stewart, his mom Gail, Christa and his whole family for allowing me (and will continue to allow me) to be Gramma Sally in Hawaii to his son Kelan. At a time when we all thought that my daughter would not be able to conceive I was able to be a Gramma to Kelan and experience some of the joys a Gramma wishes to experience. I WILL meet them one day and will keep Kelan close to my heart as I will Brayden. A driving force in ActiveRain...Bob has been a constant support for me throughout my time here. With a hands on approach with the members of ActiveRain, Bob has definitely been one of the biggest assets to this network.
My mom is going to be 84 and finally ‘retired’ last year. She is moving slower but still a real sharp cookie in mind and spirit. She’s given us a couple of scares with getting a bite from one of the cats which got infected. Then the antibiotics were toxic and she got hives all over her body, fever and so forth so we took her to the hospital. Luckily she’s better now. My kids were on their way to give the cats away this morning and though mom agreed to give up ‘her favorite’ too she cried and cried on the phone (I am just sitting here with tear stained eyes) and they turned around and brought Sheba home. I have not heard my mom cry but a few times in my life and hearing her on the phone tore at my heart. I so love my mom.
Time Restraints? Between a full time job, my grandson on the way and spending more time with my mom and family I’d say my life is full. I presume when my daughter and her family leave for North Carolina shortly after the baby is born (another heartbreak will ensue) my mom will still have my son there but I will make it a point to spend more time with her as well.
I do make it a point to stop by every day here on ActiveRain and on Facebook to catch up with all my friends and family although I promised myself when things cool down a bit I will dedicate more time to my business and socializing more with all of you.
Always mindful of a balanced life between business, family, friends...
and me time....
A Hui Hou (until we meet again)!
