Are You a Toll House Loyalist or a Best New Anything Rebel?
I know, what the heck does this have to do with Staging, Real Estate or SEO?? Well, it doesn't.. not really. Yesterday was one of those boring... too hot to "play" outside... no football on TV kind of days. So, my husband decided to make some Turtles. You know what they are.. the chocolaty, chewy nutty things all dentists love for us to eat.
Anyway he used Nestle's Chocolate chips and as we had some left over, I put the rest in a plastic container. And, I made sure I had the Original Toll House Chocolate Chip Cookie Recipe cut out and inside the container. Looking at me as if I were nuts, I explained to him that not just any recipe would do. Couldn't I just Google and us any of the thousands of recipes online??
You see I'm a Toll House Loyalist... the Original Toll House Chocolate Chip Cookie Recipe.. the one on the back of the bag. It's the recipe my mother used when she made them for me... the ones that were waiting at home for me when I came in from school. Good grief.. this is what a chocolate chip cookie is supposed to taste like!!
There is, of course, the infamous Neiman Marcus Chocolate Chip Cookie Recipe, which was developed in response to an old legend. (This really is a legend and yes, I've made the cookie ...good but NOT the Original)
Now does this mean that I will not try anything new? Not necessarily because I love new things. And, I'm a very big believer in having an open mind and trying new things. But there are some things that are a Tradition and I think this recipe is one of them.
What about you? Do you go for the Nestle's Original Toll House Chocolate Chip Cookie or do you ditch it and head for something new?
Now all I need is a glass of milk!
And I have scanned the recipe to my harddrive where it will rest until I need it!
