SANDHILLS FARM TO TABLE COOPERATIVE

FALL 2011 PRODUCE BOXES

I joined the Sandhills Farm To Table Cooperative (SF2T) this past Spring in an effort to eat healthier and in turn support our local Moore County farmers!  I was a little skeptical of the quality of the produce that I might receive for the price per box.  Well, let me tell you, I had absolutely NO REASON to be skeptical!!!

When I picked up my very first box of produce I was MORE THAN pleased!  Everything looked so beautiful and ripe...and every box after that 1st one looked just as GOOD.  The only problem I encountered with my Spring/Summer subscription was that our box was so full of wonderful things that Vince and I were having a difficult time eating it all each week....(I know, hard to believe, but TRUE!).  I started freezing the strawberries, blueberries & peaches and I made jars of sauce with the tomatoes.  I gave a few items away to family & friends, too....hoping that they would also join the SF2T.

If you missed the Spring/Summer season, DON'T WAIT, now's the time to JOIN for the Fall season!  The Fall subscription starts on Sept. 7 and ends on Oct. 28 for a total of 8 weeks of fresh produce!  If you don't think you can go through a box in a week, then you can sign-up for a Bi-Weekly Box (4 boxes instead of 8)....That's what I'm doing this Fall Season.

It's really easy to join & subscribe, just visit

You will be glad you did!

Denise, when produce is this fresh, it tastes so much better!  Those green onions look like they'd be just wonderful in my salad tonight.

I know, Pat!  The fresher the BETTER!  I just love eating fresh!  The poodles love it, too!  They especially like the blueberries and carrots!

Great localism post! Wish I could join a co-op but I shall settle for our great Farmer's market!

Hi Maggie - I love the Farmer's Market, too.  But, the co-op has been so much more convenient for me and I love getting the 'mystery box' each week...ya never know exactly what you're going to get.

Denise, the farm to table co-ops are becoming more popular in many areas. Maybe it's time to find one here.

Pat - Thanks Again!  I appreciate it!

THANK YOU ALL for the comments!  My Co-op is taking a couple of weeks off before the Fall Subscription starts and I just know I'm going to really miss getting a box of fresh veggies this week!  Well, I guess I'll have to drive to the Farmer's Market this weekend instead ;-)

Denise, you've inspired me to locate a farm to table cooperative near me. I relaize it's prbably late in the season for this year, but hopefully I'll find one before next growing season. Thanks for a great idea.

That's great, Elva!  It's not too late to join!!!  The Fall season has alot to offer, too, such as apples, squash, pumpkins, lettuce and much more!!!  Let me know when you find one near you.
