Russian Sailors Enjoy Seattle Sights

By

This weekend as I traveled the streets of Seattle, I noticed some handsome young fellows in Russian Naval uniforms really enjoying all we have to offer visitors and locals alike, here in the Emerald City. These Cadets are part of the two hundred aboard Russian sailing vessel Pallada, docked at pier 66.

Never shy to request a photo, I held up my camera as the obliging lads nodded approval. Immediately their demeanor changed, shoulders rolled back, heads held high, as I snapped this shot of young foreign military students, enamored with the sights of new worlds so far from home. I was excited for them to continue on their way, knowing well, the rich bounty of our fair Seattle they were about to discover...

Judi, That is really cool that the Russian Sailors are enjoying port time in Seattle!  Is it just me or do the two on either end look like they're 16?  I know that I am getting old, but wow they are baby faced!

Good shot.  They look so young!  What a wonderful experience for them to be able to visit Seattle.

 Life is good!

Hi Alexandra~ That's me! I love to welcome the sailors, when they hit Seattle. (LOL!)

Hi Tony~ I thought the same thing! Am I getting so old that young adults look like babies? As cadets, they may very well be sixteen!

Hi Roy~ These fellows were certainly enjoying their trip though Seattle!

Hi Larry~ I must admit, there are times when I purposely leave my camera at home, so I can just enjoy the experience, but alas, every time I do, something spectacular appears before me and I've missed an astounding photo opportunity!

Best regards from Seattle,

Judi - Now that is a sight to see!  It shows how much the world has changed in the decades since the Cold War of the 1950s, 1960s, and 1970s.  I hope they enjoyed their visit to Seattle.

Judi, as I think you know, I took a tour of their tall three masted sailing ship ten days ago while it was berthed in Victoria harbour. Quite an eye opener.
