Reach Out and Touch Someone - It's Like Magic!

There are just some times when a comment on a blog post won't do what I need it to. Tonight, I read a blog post that got me a bit sad for the writer, and I waffled for a bit about just what kind of comment I might write, I gave up on that idea.

Old Bakelite phone

Instead, I picked up the phone and called. And, like magic, the connection we've already formed grew as we spoke. Now, I like to write, and often communicate by email and in my comments, but I have to say that, there's nothing quite like hearing someone's voice, enjoying their laugh, and knowing that I've connected a bit more deeply.

Have you connected with someone in the Rain lately?  Try it - and watch magic happen!

I love such stories. We've spoken to a couple AR contacts and it feels so great to have this option to turn to.

I had to come back to comment on the fact that you remembered that she is Chief Cook.  That is quite a memory you have there.  And, I think we could have managed a pretty good conversation, too, knowing that you have the gift of gab like I do!

Have a wonderful weekend.

Hi Collen - I agree. There are always those moments when I feel my shyness starting to hold me back, but I know I'm just about always happy when I do it in spite of those feelings.

Hi Julie - Thank you! I don't know why this post has attracted quite so much spam, but there it is. I haven't yet met anyone - on the phone or in person - from AR with whom I didn't connect. I think you're right - we're a like-minded group!

Hi Scotti - Thank you! Yes, those spammers have been busy little bees... It's OK; I like getting 10 points for every one I report!

And I see that the AR gods have now removed all of them! Woo Hoo!

Hi Ron - I think I remember because it always tickles me that you call her the Chief Cook. I'm sure we'd have a great conversation!

Judy,

This is GREAT advice! You really need to put a name with a face and a voice. I need to follow your advise and reach out and touch someone. Building relationships is the best way to earn other people's business. What a great lesson! A definite suggest but when I scrolled back up there, I saw suggest was no longer there... I'm assuming you were featured and if so, I'm sorry I missed it. You definitely deserve the recognition!

This post is refreshingly good for the sou!

Hi David - Well, not on vacation, just working on a very last-minute move for a client and having very long days as a result.
