Is it bad to talk about taxes?

Well, maybe it is a very sensitive topic, but I have always believed that rich should pay more taxes, we should all have compassion for the poor.  Why does the Congress only talk about cutting taxes and programs? We have been cutting programs that impact middle to lower class (I am talking about income class) for the last 10 years, we have cut police forces, fire services, social programs such as welfare, public school funding, State and Federal parks and infrastructure such as roads and bridges, etc, meantime the richest Americans (top 1% of them) enjoy the lowest tax rate since Eisenhower year.  I would like for everyone to read what Warren Buffet has to say about this: Mege-rich should pay more taxes, stop coddling the  rich.  I believe in our social programs that help people, we can't do it all by donations, why not let the government to do it.  Sure the governments have waste, but overall they are doing great job, that is why the world thinks that America is the best country, but will it still be in 20 years if we keep doing what we are doing now? our schools will no longer be the best, our streets will no longer be safe, and our roads and bridges will no longer support our growth. So let the rich pay more taxes and keep America a strong country for our next generations. I hope I didn't offend anyone by saying this. It is okay that we disagree, right?

The problem is that even if you take ALL of the income of the rich (whoever they might be) it would not make much of a dent in our national debt or in the amount of money available to pay the police or firemen.

And at what income level is one considered rich?

We have find a way to create more jobs. Only then will we have a chance to climb out of this hole we seem to be in.

We are talking about mega rich, people who have millions dollars through capital gains, but the tax rate is only at 15%,  it is what Warren Buffet said, these people do not need tax break.
